Arbor Landing at Compass Pointe located in Leland, NC is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Living Dietary Manager at our new and beautiful Independent Living community.

This team member will coordinate with the Area Culinary Director/Dining Services Director/Executive Director supervision and operation of the dining program, in keeping with the nutritional guidelines, resident preferences, company policies, and dining services budget. Order and prepare food, ensure a positive meal service for residents, assist with food and service for special events and activities, maintain food inventory, maintain regulatory compliance, and direct dining service employees.

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook food in accordance with nutritional guidelines, regulations, and residents’ individual prescribed diets and/or food preferences.
• Present food in an appetizing and attractive manner.
• Assist in fostering residents’ independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment when needed.
• Ensure that food is delivered on time and in a pleasant manner.
• Visit with residents at each meal when available and ensure quality of service.
• Prepare food and coordinate food service for special events and activities as requested.
• Encourage residents to participate in the dining service program and provide a forum for their input.
• Provide educational opportunities for team members and residents.
• Review and implement procedures for food handling and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Assist with recruitment and hiring of dining team members.
• Supervise dining service team members and ensure adequate staffing in the dining department.
• Lead by example, encourage teamwork, company philosophy, and provide ongoing coaching.
• Participate in performance appraisals with team members.
• Ensure appropriate handling of on-the-job injuries as reported by team members.
• Implement training of dining service team members in accordance with state and federal regulations, company policies and training programs.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a chef/cook.
• Current food service sanitation certificate within 3 months of starting position
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Friendly, caring disposition with a desire to work with older adults.
• Computer proficient with experience in MS Outlook, Excel & Word.
• Effective communicator with the ability to appropriately respond to needs and concerns as needed.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, special events and holidays.
• Occasional travel may be necessary.
• Compliance with HACCP, OSHA, local health department regulations and company policies and procedures.
• State food-handling and kitchen regulations.
• Fire & Safety procedures.
• Operation of kitchen appliances and office equipment.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with proper infection control.
